I love it when I see a funny ass joke on the top comment of a pretty funny posts, but I fucking loath those assholes who say "You clever devil!", "Thumb for you good sir!", "You made me laugh at that", "You are a comedic genius" or one of those clapping gifs. I swear to God, I could literally laugh my ass off, but those assholes just ruin it. It pisses me off a lot worse though when they get like 20 something thumbs for pointing out they laughed. Unless you have something funny to say in response, shut the fuck up and just thumb the comment up. Nobody needs your fucking input. It seems like people do that to just thumbwhore lately though, and it pisses me the fuck off.

I actually feel that people responding to a clever joke add to the humor.

It's whether or not they use a cliche/unoriginal gif/image is what matters, like the whole "Thumb for you sir," which annoys me as well, because it's said so often.

or how people respond to something scary/disturbing using that "nope" gif of a guy blasting himself with a satellite from orbit, it's over done.

bottom line, I like it when people respond, but I wish they'd make the effort to keep it fresh.

I agree. It's like a sitcom where having a live studio audience (or a machine) laugh makes you more compelled to laugh.
