Cremebuns is totally right on this.
I was in a bar not too long ago with a friend of mine, when a rather drunk fellow 30-40 years my senior asked "Excuse me miss, can I hit on you?" I said "I'm sorry, but I have a boyfriend." To which he nodded and said quite seriously
"Yeah, I know if someone hit on my girlfriend, I'd probably have to punch him."
And that was it. It was the most Canadian bar conversation I think I've ever had.

I'm FAR more pissed about the -ess suffix, dragon is gender neutral, it's like saying catess.

One is the ideology that women should be equal with men
The other is the belief that there is no god

How the hell are they in any way the same, but for different genders?

This may be the pot talking, but I just had a small epiphany.
Are these "I am wymyn hear me roar" retardo feminists literally the female version of a neckbeard?
Similar sympotms include:
-Overactivity in mostly fantasty fandoms for escapism (MLP, Who, fantasy genre fics etc)
-Blaming their unattractiveness on society (neckbeard so classy = fat is beautiful)
- Acting as though their 'condition' is a noble thing and they deserve things because of it
- Claiming that their inability to get laid is their own choice
- Frequent online ranting about small/non issues (that man looked at me which is rape/plebians will never understand the burden of intelligence)
- High rate of clinical depression

No, it's not the pot, you're completely correct there.

You could be in a 20 foot thick steel cube, but if you're male, you'd still be harassing a girl somewhere apparently. And no doubt they'd find a lawyer/judge combo that'd get you thrown in jail for it just because they're assholes like that.

as a guy i love being hit on. it makes me feel good about myself. like even though i have a girlfriend if a girl comes up to me and starts talking to me and laughs at my dumb jokes i feel really good about myself. sure there are instances of harassment like they won't leave me the **** alone but for the most part it's good. i've always thought women take the fact that men hit on them for granted.

and i think harassment is very over defined i guess is the term. if a guy is constantly hitting on you even though you're blatantly disinterested and/or tell them to go away and they still do it. but if a guy compliments you it's not harassment. terms can be harassment

"you look very pretty, one of the prettiest girls i've ever seen!"
not harassment

"damn girl you got some big tits!"
harassment

but on the flip side if a girl came up to me and said "hey boy i bet you have a big dick" i would feel like a god. so it's a weird gray area. honestly i think we need to get thicker skins about this stuff. it's better for society to both tone it down and get thicker skins not just get rid of it completely. it's like bullying. yes it's horrible but it's better to teach kids to stand up for themselves and not take **** than people trying to hide kids from the world and make everything safe and cozy, this tactic will ruin our species and our society to be subjected to anyone who is willing to take power by force. more likely to be subjugated.

so in TL;DR harassment is a gray area but you should have a thicker skin and just not get butt hurt about other people's ****

Here's my problem with feminism. It's the whole rape is when a boy hits on you without you wanting it. Rape is when a boy even has the balls to make eye contact with me. Rape is when a boy tries to buy me a drink. No, **** that. I'm a college student studying criminal justice and in my Intro to Criminal justice class 2 semesters ago we had some of those women shelter people come in to talk to the class. They told us REAL ******* stories of rape. A girl in the class even was brave enough to tell her own god damn story of sexual abuse from her boyfriend. I can not believe that women are comparing the heart break, feeling like you're worthless and used, feeling like you can't trust anyone because the one you thought loved you treated you like a piece of meat, to a boy looking at you. It's just... so stupid. Rape is a very serious thing and these feminists are making light of a serious issue. They are counter productive.

I learned its harassment it you do/say it twice and the person say no both times and you do it again then its harassment.

I learned it's way past harassment if she asks me "What the **** are you doing in my house!?"

My friend and my mom think this is sexual harassment; A guy told me I was beautiful.
He did nothing else, that was it.

I got drunk at a bar once and hit on a cute girl with a pixie haircut. I asked someone who knew her if she was single first, turns out she was dating the drummer of the band playing. But I's like " **** it, I'm gonna hit on her"

Walked up to the merch stand she was running.. "I love your hair" Her face lit up and she was like "Thank you!" and I was like "You're welcome" and then I bought a CD and staggered away into the night.

That was the first and last time I complimented a stranger.

It's the "darlin" this person is getting caught up about. You refer to those significantly close to you, that you love or care for as "darlin". It's condescending in that you don't know this person, and you're using a phrase that implies you've decided you have some kind of closeness with this person without them having any kind of say in the situation. In this context it's not at all appropriate, and understandably offensive to a woman who may get similar comments on a regular basis. You're already referring to this person as some kind of significant other without them having ever met you, or you them.
#26 to #22 - mooproxy (06/12/2014) [-]
I'm from the UK and in some places here it can often be just a colloquial term to refer to any woman, especially if you drop the g (darlin'). Besides I doubt "You look nice today, random woman I've just started talking to" would be better for anyone.
