As cool as this is, imagine what the next generation of bionics is going to be, people.

Researchers have been able to build carbon nano tube muscles, that are stimulated by electricity. It's possible that we're going to be seeing people with hyper strong prosthetic limbs, made from Carbon Nano tube muscles, Synthetic flexible plates for skin, that can withstand the impact of multiple bullets, with a bone structure made of a hyper strong polymer stronger than steel. Motha ****** are going to be punching through walls like it's Deus Ex Human Revolution.

it doesn't really sound all that practical, aside from certain job groups, and there, exoskeletons would be more useful, since they are not bound to a certain person.
But yeah, the future awaits with glorious things

I wasn't pointing out how practical it would be, I was point out the fact that pretty soon, Deus Ex HR bionics is going to be the medical and technological norm, since the manufacturing of the needed materials as well as the prosthetic themselves, is going to be ungodly cheep, especially since we figured out how to make graphene sheets with a ******* blender and detergent, which could be used in the making of Carbon Nano tubes. Material science has also never been a hotter and more productive field in human history, creating polymers that can heal themselves, nano technology is creating completely hydrophobic materials on the cheep, there has been a polymer/carbon nano tube fiber that has been found to be far stronger and lighter than Kevlar, and the Karlshune I of T has been working on the 3d printing of a super strong ploymer ceramic that could be printed on a microscopic level, which can be reinforced even further, creating an incredibly strong, almost stronger than bone, material.

And it's relatively cheep when compared to the prices of many modern day prosthetic, like the one in the gif.

yeah, pretty much, yes,I was just saying it doesn't seem practical(or safe, for that matter) to put such strenghth into standard prosthetics.
also,not trying to sound like a dick,but it's "cheap",not "cheep"

That may not be optional. The amount of strength the prosthetic could have, if it's a full limb prosthetic, could be adjusted, in spite of any limiters placed on it. Hell, once it gets to this point, rigging up a prosthetic that has strength far higher than what the user possesses, would be as simple as bulking up the amount of "muscle" that control it. It would also be incredibly useful for many people who do manual labor, or do intense strength based work. Hell, some people may want to get it, for no reason besides the fact that they want to be considerably stronger, and not have to worry about biological limiters, that is, of course, gene therapy doesn't take off like a plane, and makes us nigh ageless, immune to all disease, and pumping godlike children.

Spun fishing line was found to be better than the nanotubes. With muscles being that simple to replicate, it's not long after we're going to have very affordable prosthetics.

Are there any polymers stronger than steel? By strength i guess you mean strength against breaking, and steel's pretty hard to break, up to half the strength of diamonds
