Why is it religion that you're not allowed to mock? You're allowed to make fun of anyone for anything they can choose, including their diet (Vegetarian/Vega/Whatever), Political stance (Libertarian? Republican?) or anything else!

I believe in god, but also in the Big Bang and in evoloution. My favorite band is Led Zeppelin and favorite song is stairway to heaven. My best friend is really into heavy metal and stuff along that line. I don't see why religeous people, as well as athiests, have to push their beliefs on onto other people, and create stereotypes.

Religion is a funny thing, and the previous coment on Spirituality and Religion was right. However, I DO believe in God, although not in any traditional sense. I beieve in Jesus, too, and I believe that ebing the person he was would not want us to waste our lives kneeling down and begging and groveling and humiliating ourselves and supressing who we are to worship him. God doesn't want our lives, he doesn't want to us to constantly try to force our religion on other people. That's why I don't. U'll talk to people about it if they ask. I won't walk up and say (metaphorically, of course) "I has a baseball." I'll walk up to somone who asked about what I believe and is genuinely intrested and say (metaphorically again) "There is a baseball."

I live close to a "Free Evangelical" church, and every month I get annoying fundies and foot-washers knocking on my door and asking for money for a church I don't go to (which I tell them, and they blatantly ignore) and when I say no they tell me I'll burn in hell. I love to debate shit like religion, but when people try to force their beliefs onto others, they GENUINELY THINK that their religion isn't a belief but a complete reality and truth that everybody must know about........I have a mental list of witty retorts to spout at their stupid asses, but I really wish I didn't need to.

That's my point- religion ISN'T to control your life. It's totally a free decision and a religion is supposed to be like a common fact of life for you. It's not even supposed to technically be what most would define as "religion". It's not a controlling way of life that dominates all- it's a totally free choice to believe.
