Not true, I think stereotypes against whites and americans in general are generally hilarious (and sometimes have a small dash of truth). Anytime you've laughed at a 'redneck', be it in a movie or a comedian or a friend making a funny voice, you've laughed at a self-directed stereotype. This is of course assuming you are white, which, based on your post you are.

Stereotypes can be funny even to those 'targetted' by them. I find some blonde jokes amusing, despite being one myself.
