Their Chinese is fine, seriously people, stop saying it sucks just 'cause you can't read it. The handwriting is perfectly legible, and calligraphy is completely unnecessary on a casual homework assignment, especially a middle school-looking one. (You don't write all your English homework in perfect wordart, do you?)
My Chinese is not great, but the dude's mostly talking about how his work and life in America is going smoothly. He asks about the family's well being, and (I think) he says he wishes to see them soon.
And the one character that looks like Japanese is really just poorly aligned, it's probably the Chinese character for "Heart", so the sentence it's in means "Be mindful of your health" or something along

The Chinese is great and all, but I'm pretty sure there is no dialect that uses question marks, commas, periods, and exclamation points like that.

man, this guy's Chinese sucks, I cant tell what he's saying, maybe he should've taken some calligraphy first.
