Apparently it's a "community center". Whether community center or mosque, it's still insensitive of them to build it there.

You can't judge all Muslims by the dickface Al Queda asshats tho.

It has nothing to do with Americans' opinions of Muslims & their religion... If I were in their shoes, I would do something that shows different people worship the same God differently, like building a community outreach center (Giving alms is one of the pillars I believe). It doesn't make sense to me that one would build a mosque for worshiping the God in who's name thousands of friends and loved ones were killed mere blocks away.

It wasn't the religion, it was the insane dickheads that thought killing innocent people was the best thing to do. You can't say that all muslims are terrorists, it would be like saying all Christians are terrorists because of Tim McViegh. Or banning guns because of Columbine.
