They did not create a new type of matter, they simply took protons and attached them to eachother so they are like molecules, but instead of atoms, they are protons.

I think you misread the paper. They bonded PHOTONS, not protons. Photons, up to this point, were thought to not have mass. Protons are part of the atomic nuclei. So bonding PHOTONS together is creating a new form of matter.

I wish OP would put the damn sources on these posts; I sometimes actually want to know a bit more than "Something cool happened"

"water on mars"
NOPENOPENOPE
#7 - brainy (09/30/2013) [+] (1 reply)
Im sorry, but the rover on mars didnt find water, it found oxygen and hydrogen in the soil. And the way it scans the soil, is heating it up so the materials vaporise to be analized. And when heating oxygen and hydrogen they bond to form water, so they just confirmed that there were oxygen and hydrogen on the planet surface.

That lightsaber is correct, in a way. All we have managed to do is change light into a more solid form.

I'm glad that they invented mind-controlled prosthetics, I'll need them when I chop off my arm with the light saber.
