That wouldn't very hard. 1 reed switch, a magnet, a few LEDs and some wires would do the job.

Not only that but it could be wired to another switch which plays the "Dah, dah dah dah!" music when it's opened.

No, no, NO, It would play the building suspense jingle and THEN it would be all "Dah, dah dah dah!". That way I could spend my time looking all intensely at it as others waited. Only to be greeted with an actual sword. A much more rewarding reaction.

Wait! What if the bottom of the chest is pressure-sensitive so the "Dah dadah dah DAH" comes only when you take the content out?
