Great, now we're gonna have a bunch of people explaining how they're soooooo sociopathic or psychopathic

Protip: If you hear anyone say they're a psychopath, they're not one
Protip: If you hear anyone say they're a sociopath, they're not one

If they really were a Psychopath, they wouldn't tell ANYONE.
If they really were a Sociopath, they wouldn't be having small-talk with you (and certainly wouldn't bring that tid-bit up)

Actually sociopaths are known for being charming and smooth-talkers. So they would indeed be having small-talk with just about anyone. Still most likely would not bring up the being a sociopath though.

This is true, however, they are also defined by anti-social behaviour, they would not go out of their way to speak to you unless they wanted something, so small talk is out of the question

You do realize that anti-social behavior in the way of a mental illness does not actually mean being "anti-social". It means that they are hostile, destructive, disrespectful, etc., in social situations that would normally be deemed uncalled for.

Actually it does. Anti-Social personality traits are characterized as a distinct dislike or hatred of companionship or social situations, most Anti-social people either isolate themselves, become hermits, or simply avoid any more situations than necessary to continue day to day life. There's a reason it's deemed a mental disorder, because people are pack animals and like to socialize with one another

No. A Psychopath knows right and wrong, they just don't care because they are unable to empathize with other people. A Psychopath usually knows they are one, but doesn't care.

A sociopath is defined as someone with a lack of conscience and acute anti-social personality traits. A Sociopath would not hold a small-talk conversation unless they wanted something out of you. SOME people have Sociopaths tendencies because they convince themselves they do (when, in fact, they do not).

If the psycho knew how it worked, he could bring it up because he could find the idea amusing or because he knew the other guy wouldn't believe him, thus making it amusing for the psychopath.

Ya no, that's not how it works. A Psychopath is defined as someone who feels neither empathy nor fear, as such they preoccupy themselves with other things, most commonly with 'winning'. What are they trying to win? Doesn't matter, they just want A Psychopath would understand that explaining it would most likely scare someone or at least put them on edge, and as such it would make 'winning' with that person a lot harder. They would NOT tell people, it's just NOT in their nature

One of the several preoccupations could be scaring people or laughing from the shadows.
The question that must always be asked is what is the goal a psycopath settles with? Is it the thrill of driving the highway in 260 km/h? Robbery or murder? Or more simple things that won't involve maximum risk? People can be deemed as minor psychopaths as they won't go for the full risk, but that is the weakness of the term "psycoptath" too.
We can't be clear on what it is or who it may be. Personally I believe that psycopath is just a pretty term people hide behind when they can't explain that "normal humans" are cruel from time to time.
A psycopath are in most cases just a normal guy that is cheating his surroundings shamelesly for gain and when he gets caught showing no regretts he is deemed a psychopath and we can all settle back, believing that this person is some obscurity traversing the horizon of our mind and that we ourselves can never become something like that.

Sorry 'bout the wall and every spelling miss. It's late and I'm stumbly and ****. Goodnight.

(And of course I'm trying to be nice. I'm not a mean person, I just don't like it when people feel the urge that they MUST make themselves out to be special when they already are special and just can't see it)

Sorry, but they're wrong.

Psychiatry is not an exact Science, and even then I'm fairly sure you can't be diagnosed as much of anything until you reach adolescence. You know, child brains developing and all.

Cute. If you were a Psychopath, you simply wouldn't tell anyone, even if they could figure it out themselves, because that would make them worry, and that would make it harder for you to accomplish whatever you want to do.

I'n sorry, friend. But you're now a special snowflake, please do not try to be as it demeans those who actually have real disorders.

Except that Psychopaths do not feel fear, so they wouldn't be 'terrified' of anything. They may WORRY, but that is not the same as fear. They simply do not tell anyone, I cannot understand how you do not get this. Because a Psychopath does not connect to other people they have other things take up their time, usually 'winning', it doesn't matter what they are to win at, as long as they win, and telling people you are a psychopath ANYWHERE may make people worried and make it harder to win and so they DON'T DO IT. Simple.

Indeed not everybody thinks the same, but Psychopathy is a mental disorder, and as such all Psychopaths share common traits, which I already mentioned.

(Oh, and for the record, I looked up diagnosis for anti-social or destructive disorders, and they can only start at 15 at the earliest and cannot legally be diagnosed until 18. Again, adolescent brains are still growing and experiencing and nobody wants to jump the gun

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisocial_personality_disorder

So unless you are lying, or live in a very backwards part of the world, you were NOT diagnosed at 8)

Because you are a liar. I've provided proof that you cannot be diagnosed until you're 15, which clashes with your original argument. I also proved (through reasonable explanation and deduction) that a Psychopath and Sociopath wouldn't admit their disorders, which clashes with your argument.

I have gone the extra mile to prove my point, while your only real evidence is "No, you're wrong because it hurts my feelings".

But you can't prove that.

I could say that I am, in fact, the best psychiatrist known to man and I am only giving my professional opinion. But without proof, my words are without merit.

And now the argument has gone from "You're wrong" to "You may be wrong because X told me so". In any case, find, I'll throw you a bone, the doctor was wrong.

But hey, how about this; why don't you do your own research? Actually look up what a Psychopath is and THEN decide whether you are one or not, instead of just trusting a quack doctor. Until then, please do not go around saying you're something you're unsure of, as again, it lowers the value of those actually going through it.

Well, thats actually against the definition of Psychopath.
And if you were a psychopath, it could be proven using an MRI gauging how your brain responds to "Emotional" input.
Psychopathy is when the brain circumvents input past the emotional response, causing impaired or nonexistent emotional response.
The result is often cold logic.
Point is, psychopaths usually do think very similarly, and it would be unlikely they would feel terrified at non-threatening things- anxiety etc.
This is why I do not believe you, there are way too many holes in your story here.

Yes, because psychopathic behavior isn't genetic.

True story: My mom always thought I was a Sociopath when I was young. She would take me to counselors and psychiatrists, worried I would go psycho and kill someone.

I just thought the outside world was scary and wanted to stay inside and read books.
