Knights who say Ni (description)
During the scene shortly before scene 24 in Monty Python, and the Quest for the Holy Grail, featuring a certain group of Knights who happen to say 'Ni', the head of the group requests a Shrubbery, and he specifies that it should look nice, but not be too expensive. Doesn't sound like much to the average American, just a good bit of random humor, right? As it turns out 'Shrubbery' is actually an English slang for prostitute, so when they were asking around about shrubberies, and the old women was offended by their inquiry, it was because of the nature of the joke revolving around Hoes. When Arthur presented the greenery the pay off of the joke -to folks in the UK- was that they weren't actually referring to prostitutes.
