What's so heroic about someone as over-powered as superman? he was born with the ability to do all he can do (all he can do on earth anyway) so him saving people is just a bi-product of the fact he's invincible a sort of "I can do it easily, why the **** not" batman TRAINED himself up from a young age with the burning hatred of all criminals and the desire to save anyone he could from them and pushed his body and mind to the absolute limits to do so, who's the REAL hero?

Have you ever lost your parents when you went out? Remember that feeling when you finally see them again? How relieved you felt how safe you felt. Now imagine that feeling that sense of security shattered in your face when you're only 8 years old. Bruce learned quick that the world is messed up. And instead of ignoring it and living on with his billions or turning into one of his villains he instead makes himself The Batman. Thats why I love him dont know about everyone else tho.

What's heroic about Superman?

Everything.

He's saved the world. He's saved people's lives again and again and facing great danger in return for nothing. He's faced down enemies who are impossibly strong. He treats people with respect and great compassion so that even other heroes are inspired to do better rather to envy him. He overcomes temptations to abuse his powers or use them for his own gain. Again and again he's shown dedication, self sacrifice, humility, and mercy.

Superman stories aren't about Superman striving to make himself stronger or about being a badass who scares evil. They're stories about how he strives to be a better person, and they show us that we can be better as well.

THANK YOU. I mean I love Superman the most, AND Batman. But so many people use that argument "What makes him so special, he was born with that blah blah" Exactly as you said though. Its how he chooses to use it.

And I always find a key difference in them. While both are heros, I feel Supermans main concern is simply saving lives, while Batmans is fighting crime. While both of them do both of those things, Batman isnt out during the day, around the world, at near light speed.

I love them both

Actually, I really like that explanation. Batman's whole thing is how he and his enemies are represented symbolically, while Superman's thing is about his soul/mind rising to be worthy of/earning the title his physical body has already had from birth.

Superman didn't need some tragedy to know that saving people's lives was the right thing to do.
He was born with more than enough power to rule the entire planet, and instead he decides to use it to help its people, and he didn't need to be a victim of some tragedy, he didn't need to be convinced that there was some evil in the world that he needed to stop, he just decided that power should be used to help.
There's nothing compelling him to do what's right; no guilt, no desire for redemption. He just does what's right because that's what people should do.

Because they always handicap Supes, since he never kills anyone and Batman is usually written to outsmart him. There's nothing to stop him from (paraphrasing Cracked) dropping the moon on Batman.

It's just because Batman winning is more exciting, the underdog beating all odds. If it actually happened fairly, there's very little chance Batman would win.

He... doesn't (except in some movies, but those are non-cannon and don't count)? Superman is undefeated for the most part. When he is beaten, it's because the writer of said story is a ******* moron and has no business writing fanfiction (take Frank Miller, for example). He's probably been beaten by magic users before or some of the god tier villains (take Doomsday or Darkseid, for example), but a mere man has never beaten him without a lot of help.

I don't like either of them

People say Superman sucks as a hero because he's so over-powered, but ****, look at Batman. He's literally made to be the perfect human and for some reason every single god-damn Batman fanboy INSISTS that he either A. Has the solution on his belt, B. Can simply 'out-think' the problem, or C. Can out-think it 'with prep time'. ********************. I can't even count how many times I heard the argument "So, Batman V.S. X" "Oh, Batman would obviously win every time" "...X is a super-powered being with immortality, every power under the sun, smartest person in the entire universe, super-strength and endurance, and can make a man orgasm with just his eyes" "Ya, but Batman would come up with something to win"

You don't seem to understand, I'm not saying "I don't understand how plot armor can be a super-power" I'm saying it SHOULDN'T be a super-power. I don't care what he's portrayed in or how people justify it because it's just stupid. It's like Superman being indestructible, Batman able to 'think' himself out of any situation MAKES HIM a bad super-hero, because it's not as if he actually thinks himself out of them, he just has a bunch of coincidences put in place so that he always wins.

As an writer at Disney once said "Coincidences that get your character into trouble are interesting, coincidences that get them out of it are cheating"

you really are on to something, personally I hate how absolutely EVERYONE is always on Batman's dick, the reason he wins almost every fight and always wins in the end is because the writers know "why write legit action, story, fighting or w/e when people cream themselves at the mere sight of Batman's 20 foot thick plot armor?" it's BS. There's more depth and thought in anything with friggin Dick Grayson or one of the other Robins, but people get all bent out of shape when thanks to some plot Batman temporarily is mind controlled and Dick or one of the other Robins subdues him saying "DAH! Dat cood nevah happin 'cause Batman iz best! Dis plot iz stupeed!"

My problem with the batman vs superman (or batman vs anybody DC) is that you have two choices: make batman super OP or make superman either super dumb or super weak. I hate it when they make batman really strong because the whole point of batman is that he is a normal human. Yes, he has a lot of training and a lot of money, but in the end he shouldn't be able to go past the limits of a human body. This is what makes batman interesting to me, he has to use stealth and intelligence instead of just flying in and ******* **** up like a lot of DC characters. I don't have as much of a problem with downplaying superman's powers, but there is only so much you can do with that before superman comes off as a weakling or an idiot. Going this path also usually ends up with less of an entertaining fight.

Basically I dislike how batman is fighting against hero's that are way out of his power level. I would be more interested in him fighting someone like Captain America or maybe even Wolverine, who's powers aren't too far out there. (and yes I understand captain america and wolverine are not DC, but I couldn't think of any dc heros who are around batman's power level off the top of my head.
