vikings also tended to make their beards look more " respectable" Vikings did not use horns for their helmets, but some berserkers did. But they were often shunned due to the addiction to mushroom which many among them had. which led to the myth about vikings with horned helmets that came and plundered and violated people while being in a great rage with bushy beards and dirt in their faces. which was actually frowned upon because it was a religious thing to be clean, have a fine beard that was tended to ( which symbolized strength and honor in some way) which is why the saturdays in the nordic like in Norway is called Lørdag =/= laugardagn the day they had to take a bath no matter what. so that they would be clean for the upcoming week.
