This person was offering to bring their own food to accommodate their diet, and was just asking perfectly reasonable questions about what food would be served there. They weren't shoving their beliefs down anyone's throat. Uninviting them was just rude.

I think the reason they were uninvited was not because they are vegan, but the fact that it probably would have been a hassle to accomdate everything they were asking for. If I am invited to a cookout I do not ask them to reserve a section of the grill just for me. That sir is very rude, IMO.

My grand-mother is a Vegan because she don't like animal suffering.

But she isn't being picky and even last time I went to her home, she happely made ham and even tasted it to see if it was good for me.

My grandma's philosophy when cooking is "Eat whatever the **** I give you, and be happy with it." With that said, I don't think my grandma would do that for me. But I still love her anyway because she practically raised me.

Do you mean vegetarian?

Because being a true vegan extends beyond food.
And holding a vegan diet is actually pretty unhealthy. Like, categorically and inarguably so.

It's fine if you don't want to, for whatever reason. But you definitely can't say it's healthier, because we have evolved to consume meat and other animal products. Without them, you lose subtly unique essential nutrients which can't be replaced by any amount of fungus supplements.

It's never been a problem for me. Fruits and vegetables, beans, tofu (I know I know, but seriously, it's pretty damn good if you know what you're doing). I don't really take many supplements besides a multivitamin in the morning.

I think it's more of just them being a buzz kill. Asking all them questions this person is not going to be fun. You read it and it's like "this guy". Plus it is kinda rude when you go to someones home, to ask for something special. Just eat whatever they give you. You don't need to eat a lot just some.

In reality, having a 'non-meat' side is a fair enough request if they are willing to do it. Because if someone hasn't eaten meat in years, eating anything cooked on the same grill as a meat product covers it in animal fat and you'd be puking chunks for the rest of the day because your body isn't used to it. I think though, that it's a bit much to ask and what most vegetarians/vegans would do in that situation is go "sorry, I don't eat meat" because what the **** does a non meat eater do at a BBQ?

Source: My brother is a veggie, and we've discussed it at length before. He turned down my sisters BBQ invitation for this reason.

There's a right way and a wrong way to be veggie. IMO, he does it right. His gf (also veggie) even cooked me sausages for breakfast last time I went and stayed at his place.
