It's probably because you wear a fedora and think a girl is a "succubus" because she doesn't want to date you.

its such a hard situation because when someone tells you they like you in that way or present it like this, telling them you just want to be friends is basically a stab in the heart. whether you are a boy or a girl either way. How are they really supposed to react? Their motivation for being your friend was their interest in being something more and now that is gone. the friendship is permanently damaged and will likely proceed to become nonexistent.

I can say from experience. A good number of the girls I had deep friendships with that I ******* wrecked from falling for them, and then telling them and having them reject me, just kinda faded out of my life eventually.

It's not always like that. This one girl I know, I've been friends with her for years. Maybe a decade. Maybe 3 years in, I developed feelings for her, but that didn't change the fact that I valued her as a friend as well. I eventually asked her out, and was turned down. She was honest about it. I just wasn't attractive in her opinion, but moreso, she considered me like a brother more than a friend. Sure, it hurt for a bit, and honestly, I still have some strong feelings for her, but I know they won't come to fruition short of some bizarre twist of fate, so I don't let it bother me. We're still best friends, even after that, and I have no plans on cutting her out of my life just because she doesn't reciprocate my feelings. Just because you're turned down doesn't mean a friendship has been wrecked. If it is, one of you was never really the other's friend to begin with.

Anon because she has been known to peruse this site, and I require plausible deniability if she sees this.

It is an extremely difficult situation for both involved, I'm sure. I've only ever liked two people, but my best friend (we met earlier this year) admitted to me that he had feelings for me in the beginning of our friendship. Not particularly strong ones, but still. I was perfectly fine with it except for the initial "yeah right, whatever" doubt. I'm currently dating his best friend and things are actually going quite well for all three of us in this respect (excluding the fact that they're roommates and often get on each other's nerves because of chores and such).

And that is why you should have no friends.

Ok actually in depends on the kind of people said friends are. In my case once I had quite some feelings for a friend of mine, but never made a move, she found someone, I killed those feelings with fire, and we are still friends.

yeah well basicaly she is not interested in you, and she doesnt want to be too rude and say "no" so she side steps. thats how girls are man, they too nice too say some thing directly. its stab in the heart, thats cause its rejection, and rejection is a part of life man.grab a beer and move on man.

A person actually found out that a friend of mine likes a female friend of mine and she basicly just said no, everybody acts like no one happens and they still hang around a lot.
