All the talk of lady boners aside, this show can be enjoyed by hetero males. And the reason is that the characters are so well written and acted that they are the everyman in weird situations. They think and act like normal guys.

For example:

In an early season episode Sam and Dean are investigating this haunted house where a murdeous farmer ghost thing is killing kids. They try to shoot it, which doesnt work. They try to destroy belief in it, which doesnt work. Eventually they were in the house getting fairly well beaten to crap when I thought "why dont they just burn the damn house down?". Not 30 seconds later, Dean says "Screw this!", amd BURNS THE ******* HOUSE DOWN!

Its a massive series of mini road movies with awesome characters, great writing, hilarious comic relief, superb action and manly bromance.

Highly recommended.

I love the show but did anyone feel that it was kind of stupid to make catholic divine figures so much more powerful than all the other divine figures? Lucifer slaughtered every god from every other religion on a whim and they didnt even challenge him. A being only a small fraction the power of the catholic god had such an immense advantage over the highest being in every other religion.

Well, the show is more geared towards Westerners. Considering it's filmed in Canada, run by an American (I think) Corperation, the main characters are American actors, and some of the other main people are English (Hellooo Mark Sheppard, you sassy thing, you.) They were just going for what they knew their audience was more knowledgeable in. The main religion in this part of the world is Catholicism and Christianity, so most of the "God" related stuff derives from those specific religions. They do try and put other faiths into it, but really, not many people around here know much about those gods and deities. That's why they had an archangel own the **** out of gods, because they knew it would satisfy the Western masses more.
