Here's what I know about depression, as I have suffered it and suffer it.

If you are depressed It's probably because your life is **** .
When life is no longer ********** maybe you'd actually be happy.

I repeat. If someone is depressed it's probably for reasons. Amazing right? Who would have thought?

Depression ain't a ******* disease either. Of course the medical industry would have you believe that so they can force their high priced happy pills but I think 90% of that is ******** . "Depressed brains release/make less happy juices" Well of course they ******* do, after all, unhappiness is going to generate less happy juices hence being unhappy in the first place.

So yeah. Depression. Rates of it are rising. I wonder why? Maybe becuase things are ****** .

Depression, fun topic. Let me share my little experience.

For starters, it's not this "infinite unfathomable sadness" like everyone makes it seems. Imagine feeling absolutely nothing, not a single thing. No joy when you're with friends, no tears when relatives die, no excitement when you're going to see your favorite artist live, just not a single emotion for an extended and seemingly endless period of time.

It sucks. You look around you, watch all of your friends and family experience their bout of emotions on a daily basis, be it joy, anger, sadness, anxiety, everybody is feeling something while you're left with... nothing.

This deep and endless nothing blossoms. You begin to question life. You label everything as pointless. You wonder why you continue on and what is the point of trying so hard to receive nothing in result.

You follow this track until, well. You know where this is going. The thing about depression is, even though that guy IS a douchebag, it really is as simple as "not being depressed."

After going through my experience of depression, it was undoubtedly obvious that life IS meaningless. But that's the kicker. You're the only one who can put meaning into it. Until you're able to pick yourself by your boot straps and put meaning into life, life is just a heap of pointless **** . You find hobbies you enjoy, friends you like to spend time with, and a family that cares about you and doesn't want to see you rolling around in your own **** .

It's not an easy process though, it's painful trying to force happiness into life that has so long been comfortable with nothing.

But after you succeed, after you find the meaning in life that's been staring you in the face the entire time...

Well.

It's definitely better than nothing.

TL;DR: Life is inherently meaningless, but only you can put meaning into it.

It's weird how people can literally get over fears, anger, frustrations, or any number of negative emotions just by rationalizing them.

But suddenly when we talk about super-sads it's just too hard.
