You cannot use the word "love" when defining what love is. That would be like saying a cookie is a chocolate chip filled cookie. What the kid said also sounded more like friendship anyway, but to be honest what do I really know about love.

Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticule, and together, achieving a singular purpose against statistically long odds.

It is the butterfly that clutters your stomach when you hear her name, and the moth which settles on the tips of your fingers when she speaks yours. It is the excitement that jolts and jerks at your ribs, your chest threatening to burst, when your hand touches her. It is the fire that erupts when her lips meet yours, the sparks that fly and ignite an inferno of passion, the tingling of a bolt of lightning as she pulls away. It is the hearth in your heart when her head rests against it, and the embers which cool slowly, but never truly die, the light fades but never extinguished. It is the ringing in your ears like a thousand church bells when she whispers into it. It is a tree caught in a hurricane when she fights with you, its roots struggling to find foundation firm enough to withstand the whiplashes of her sting and the floods of her anger, as the bark is stripped away, but the heart remains intact. It is the rot which festers in your stomach, when you imagine her with another man, when you picture some one else's arms around her body, and the tornado which rips apart the solace when you think about losing her. It is a single matchstick lit in a basement of infinite darkness when you feel alone and she is there. It is the lightning bug illuminating a blot in the moonlight, standing up to the depths and the layers of dark. It is the increase in heartbeat when she tells you she is yours. The thundering of a dozen racehorses when she tells you she feels the same. It is the drop of water that falls from a drooping leaf and plummets to the earth with a shattering drip, a deafening plop, a silent crash, when you see her after days that lasted years, when your gaze meets hers and that smile breaks out. It is the pang of regret you will experience if she leaves you. It is the pain of a needle through your aorta if she walks away, it is the fist which punches the wall if she closes the door, and it is the broken wail that's left behind if she doesn't look back

Once in psychology someone was reading out of the text book and the phrase "What is love" came up and I quietly muttered "Baby don't hurt me" and the entire class laughed.

"Even though some of you is missing."
My girlfriend got hit by a car a few years ago and has brain injuries now, she's lucky to be alive though and I'm glad she's still here.
