Actually its true. Because everything you do and every decision you make is determined by events that happened prior, it is actually the events that happened prior that decided the outcome of your choice.

no... it isnt. You are likely to do certain things based on prior experiences, but you are by no means locked to do those.

All known atoms and electrons follow the laws of the universe.

If you got a jar of substance and you added another substance to it, you would know exactly what was going to happen to it, and it would do the same thing each time you did it.

Your thoughts are just atoms reacting and moving.

Because atoms will like always do a certain thing in a certain environment so you dont have control over your brain and its thoughts. Your consciousness is most likely just a biproduct of your brain.

Studies have been done to try and determine about free will and in one study the scientists were able to know what the test subject was going to do before he consciously decided to do it, by upto 5 seconds before he knew himself, by monitoring his brain activity during the experiments.

I'm not saying there is no such thing as free will because it hasnt been proved. But if you beleive in science then thats the most likely and logical answer, and the limited tests so far seem to agree with that.

You would make the exact same choice every single time if nothing changed prior to the choice you made. That means something changing prior to your choice is required to make your choice change, which means it is not actually your will that decides what you do but the sequence of events prior to your choice.

it is a theory not fact. because were useing multi dimensional and time travel theorys to create this. two things we know absolutely nothing about or ever will no matter how advanced or capable we become. in short theories lead to even more theories. tis the way the mind thinks, operates and works. to say it is fact is utter nonsense.

Hate it went people use the word theory wrongly.
User avatar #35 to #34 - darthsalias (09/16/2013) [-]
wrongly? the word means a collective set of ideas not accepted by everyone ether by lack of evidence or other factors. i used the word right in every way.

Theory means an extremely detailed and well-substantiated explanation which has been based on knowledge and ideas that have been repeatedly and mercilessly tested observed and confirmed.

It bassically means the idea has been vigourously scrutinized and all current evidence and knowledge shows that this is true.

It doesnt mean some idea that someguy thought up that some people agree with. Dont use words you dont understand please.

or this
a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, esp. one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.
