Expeliarmus takes .33 seconds to say(computer calculated for my fastest saying of a group of 20,actually takes snape a full 2 seconds in his wizard duel) and has a max range of 50ft(they're never over 25, usually less than 10, but i thought i'd be generous)
From the decision to shoot to the bullet leaving the gun an officer averages about .25 seconds. Max range about 150 feet accurately.

assuming they were standing at the spells max range, and pulled at the same time (ignoring the decision to cast the spell, but including the one of the gun to increase the spells odds) the bullet would travel 96ft (assuming fmj gov 9mm, the slowest 9mm)

That's nearly enough to hit the wizard, go through him, and hit another wizard. And that was in wizard best case scenario where the wizard shoots first and the gun has to react before the wizard can finish his spell. And also the wizards somekind of supermegawizard

aka, gun beats wizard, all time, everytime.

But how much time does it take to aim the gun? And what if, you know, the wizard was immune to bullets or has a magical shield? What if it's a wizard with a gun?

In any case, this whole scenario is assuming the wizard doesn't just set the other dude on fire with a flick of the wrist or kill him with a mere thought, from across the room (or from the other side of town), before the dude even knows the wizard is there.

the same amount of time it takes to aim a wand.... And he'd have to cast the bullet invincibilty first, which is longer. Wizard with a gun is just plain ******* awesome. and why doesnt the gun just snipe him from a mile and a half away. gun has the same options and more

Well, if you're going by Eragon magic something as simple as a bullet would do next to nothing, other then slightly drain the wizard's magic reserve. Maybe if you shot him a lot of times, but by then you would've been killed with a few words.
