Funny story, actually. It was only confirmed a couple days ago, but NASA's announcement stated that it had been outside of our solar system for over a year already, exiting the outer perimeter of the Sol system on August 25th, 2012.

The reason for the delay? It's really ******* hard to calculate how far away the smallest orbital bodies are from the sun. Over the course of a year and 20 days, the people at NASA were basically arguing over whether or not the ship was actually beyond everything else in the system. My theory is that it took a bit more than a full Earth's orbit to calculate this for what I hope are obvious reasons. those reasons being we needed to measure distances from all the outer objects in our system before saying for certain, and the only way of measuring such distances is by measuring against the annual parallax, which coincidentally (not) takes about a year to do

12 billion miles sounds impressive, but when you convert it into light years it reminds us how slow that is, especially if you watch a lot of Star Trek or sci-fi using warp theory.
0.002 light years

2nd one is what they want you to believe, the demons obviously revolted and tired to bury him.
