Next, he brings a black man to the stage. He said "This man is read"
The students said, no he's black.
"No, he's red"
"He's black!"
And the teacher turns him around to reveal he's been whipped all across the back of his body and he's covered in blood.

When you said he was "read" I thought you meant like he was well-educated and the students would argue otherwise because he was black so it would be contradictory because racism is funny.

no the teacher was the only one that was right. He simply said that (at least part of) it was red, which is correct. The students said that it wasn't red, which is wrong. If the teacher had said that the book wasn't black, then he would also be wrong, but he didn't.

He never lied. He said the book was red, then the students told him he was wrong and that it was black. He never said the students were wrong or that the book wasn't black, he merely stated the fact that it was red.

Actually Japan attacked USA because they didn't want them to enter the war. There were tensions between Japan and USA long before WW2 becasue they were both trying to spread their influence in East Asia, Japan being more aggresive and succesful than USA. Japan invaded North and East China, and later French Indochina because USA and British were supporting Chinese army trough french colonies. There were also attrocities commited by Japan on occupied territories suchy as "Rape of Nanking" when the Japanese killed around 200 000 Chinese people after the end of siege of Nanking. Because of that and becaue of fear of loosing sphere of influence in East Asia, the USA stopped all shipping of arms and industrial resources to Japan which increased anti-western sentiments throughout Japan. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor because they wanted to weaken American naval strenght so they could loose their only rival in the Pacific. They did that because they didn't want prolonged war with USA and they knew they would loose war of attrition. Bad luck for Japanese was that most of American aircraft carriers were not at Pearl harbor at the time of attack because they had practice on the open seas. The attack failed even though the Japanese did a lot of damage to American fleet and because USA had far more resources they won the war 4 years later. I like history.

Well, it's also thanks to them not choosing to send the third wave.

I was trying to find a better example, but I had a bit of a brain fart. Though one good one would be the Pope starting the Crusades. The people joining were mislead, but he just wanted power and money.
