she wasn't a real satanist though, if you read the satanic bible or just anything about Anton Lavey you will see that they don't kill people and kind off just mind their own business. these are just sick people.

do lavey satanists go to black masses on sunday and sing songs while a satanic priest reads passages from the satanic bible? take away 'satanic' and it sounds like a normal sunday in the midwest. is there also satanic confession?

Laveyanist Satanism is basically " **** those religious goofs, we can do it better!" I honestly wouldn't call it satanism since it isn't so much about satan as it is yourself being god.

Isn't that what Satan was all about though? Like how he gave Adam and Eve the apple saying it would make them like God and that God didn't want that.

That is a super loose interpretation, I hope you know. But sort of. The thing is, that according to the bible, satan did not do that for Adam and Eve to gain independence, but rather just to spite god. He even kind of says it himself.

That's what a lot of people say when someone did something they didn't want them to do. That they just did it to make them angry. And seeing as God is somewhat the author of the bible...

Listen up bro, god didn't write the bible. It was written long ago by who ******* knows. The thing that's important is that Adam and Eve's lives went to **** after they ate the fruit. They had to work in the wilderness, farm for crops, were regularly hit with famine, and had tons of thorns in their farms that would scratch their ankles. God forced them out of the garden because they directly defied his orders. He didn't want to do that, but he had to because he had already laid down the rules. Satan specifically did this to spite god, and if not just for his personal amusement. Overall, it seems that everyone would have benefited from that not happening. Satan also received punishment and was forever given a bad name among humans. Satan must have known that ******* with God would get him punished. He did it for ***** and giggles, not for "independence" or to be "the hero in the dark".

If God didn't provide guidance to write the bible, then it's nothing but a work of fiction. Ergo, neither you or I know jack about Satan, what he did, or why he did it.

I wasn't arguing as if it really happened, I was arguing in context of the mythology. I don't believe in it at all. I'm just well versed in it because I have friends who do. You learn a lot more from creationists than you think you would.

Everything I said was in the bible though.

No, you pretty much said what everyone knows. "Adam and eve were given fruits by this satan dude and god was like NUH UH and yeah." is pretty much what you said. Yeah it was in the bible, but it was oversimplified to a stupid level that's actually far from the proper meaning of the story.
User avatar #93 to #90 - corso (09/11/2013) [-]
It wasn't oversimplified, that's what it says.

*sigh* this is pointless. Let's just go our separate ways...
Also pic related, is satan

That would be for Laveyanist Satanism, he doesn't speak for all Satanists, like the Pope doesn't speak for all Christians.

Implying that definition of Satanism is the only one.

it's not, but i think it's the one with the biggest following, and as far as i know, there is not a variant of satanism that tells you to shoot people, maybe some underground with not much following.
