The joke is that Akon, an internationally famous rapper, has a bedroom in his private jet that is bigger than Eric Antifa's bedroom at home. Eric Antifa then, in turn, exclaims that he does not feel bad about downloading music illegally, since it would appear that Akon has enough money already.

It doesn't hurt the big artists that much because they can make money other ways, but always support the smaller artists and bands.

The smaller the artist, the less people will have heard them, the less torrents there will be. I'd also never download from a small-time artist, but math and chance does a good job of protecting them.

Downloading music illegally hurts the record labels, it hardly affects artists that have signed off to anyone.

Because obviously the "record label" is a big single person getting all the money...
wait, that's wrong, the record label provides jobs for thousands of people and distributes the money along everyone involved in creating the final product (designers, sound technicians, marketers, support team) and of course the artist himself who gets the biggest share.

Beat me to it!

But yes, like he said, artists barely make any money off the albums they release. They make almost all their income off touring. So if the jet bedroom pisses you off, don't go to his concert

Pic very unrelated.

Yeah, and the artists are obviously the only ones who deserve to be making money off their own music. Which they do mostly from concerts and merchandise.

Hitler was an artist, damn good one at that.

You give the title artist too much meaning and perhaps prestige. Art doesn't have to be good to make an impact, I'm not an art student but I think the definition for art is 'something culturally relevant and invocative'.

But they are ****, I'm one of those many people who don't watch xfactor. I don't watch tooooo much tv anyway. But in particular xfactor is repugnant ****. Sometimes there are some funny people who come on though, for some reason youtube sometimes recommends me clips. I watch them 1 times out of ten if i see one pop up in my feed or whatever.

I think they pop up because of some thai ladyboy xfactor thing that was popular a while back which i watched on yt.

non-strictly speaking art can be perceived as anything made with intention behind it.

I don't think it counts, I mentioned hitler only because of my interest in hitler and thought to share some semi-common knowledge. But then again it does make a valid point and reaffirms what i later say...

"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1." I think it does count man, you used Hitler in your arguement, which initially started in the debate about piracy given the lifestyle of some artist. You did nothing wrong inb4 neither did Hitler it's just that this conversation needed to be closed because it grew older

Wasn't the fact Hitler wasn't a 'Damn Good Artist' most of the reason he didn't get into art school?

I mean he painted the **** out of buildings, as shown here, but didn't he absolutely suck at people or something?

There are better pieces by hitler than that, he didn't get into art school because he was a shy and homeless vagabond with no significant backing. Take into consideration that he had a lot less experience painting when he painted that picture too. He later improved his skills while living in something like a hostel painting various things for other people. Including people and more architectural sketches.

His greatest artistry comes from his battle tactics which were amazing. A famous nazi tactic was known by the allies as blitzkrieg which means 'lightning war'. Which focused on forcing a flank attack by infantry through use of TANK ARMIES to push the enemy, all while under support of luftwaffe and bombers. Blitzkrieg dominated europe, pushing England out of France and conquering most of western europe, making germany surpass the area of Prussia.

Most of the big nazi blunders are attributed to hitler himself but were actually the work of a few of his incompetent subordinates during the times he was debilitated by illness.

Because downloading music directly hurts the artist and nobody else. It damages the record labels- and so it hurts new artists. If you want to justify piracy, don't regurgitate something you saw some idiot post on the internet.

There's a big difference between pirating music from super rich musicians and pirating music from a small time band who actually relies on your support.

mfw people pirate an underground bands music and claim to be a big fan.
