WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR BODY
WHEN YOU DRINK A " 'belial
his liter
In the first 10 minutes: teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (:u: rar% of your
re commended daily intake.) You dont immediately vomit from the oye rizelmine
sweetness because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor, allowing you to keep it down.
I co minutes: Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to
this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. [and there' s plenty of that at
this particular moment}
I 40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dilate; your blood pressure
rises; as a response, your liver dumps more sugar into your bloodstream. The
adenosine receptors in your brain are now blocked, preventing drowsiness.
I 45 minutes: Your body ups your dopamine production, stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. This is
physically the same way heroin works, by the way.
I > ED minutes: The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium, and zinc in your lower intestine, providing a
further boost in metabolism. This is compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners also increasing
the urinary excretion of calcium.
I > our minutes: The caffeine’ s diuretic properties conne into play. (It makes you have to pee.) It is now assured
that you’ ll eva mate the bonded calcium, magnesium, and zinc that was headed to your bones as well as sodium,
electrolytes, and water.
I > ED minutes: As the rave inside you dies down, you’ ll start to have a sugar crash. You may become irritable
and I or sluggish. You ' also now, lite rally, pissed away all the water that was in the Coke. But not before
infusing it with valuable nutrients your body could have used for things like hydrating your system, or building
strong bones and teeth.
This will all be followed by a caffeine crash in the next few hours. [as little as two if you’ re a smoker.)
Coke itself isnt the enemy he re. It' s the dynamic combo of massive sugar doses combined with caffeine and phosphoric
acid, which are found in almost all sodas. Mode ration, people!

puh-lease. I've always drunken large amounts of soda pop, cola, coke, whatever you want to call it and very little milk. I have yet to break a bone. so i'm assuming that humans don't need as much calcium as people claim. either that or part of strengthening your bones involves making them more brittle.

I agree with you that the average human most likely does not need as much calcium as largely assumed. Also I aswell used to drink a lot of sodas in the past and never broke a bone. But anyway this content is not intended to imply any of this. It's just showing what's happening inside a body when consumed.

I wrote it more to be a smart ass than actually being serious

I used to drink milk constantly, like liters in a week, and I've never broken any bones or had fractures or anything.
I also never go outside so my results may be a little inaccurate.

Or you just do nothing whatsoever that would/could lead to breaking a bone, you lazy mother ****** . Go climb stuff and hit things!

i'm actually in the military so I probably shouldn't start breaking bones

It's true that you don't need to drink milk but It does help when you get older, drinking milk won't prevent bones It'll help prevent it but if you do something that will break a bone milk aint gon do **** . from breaking anyone who thinks so is an idiot, but when you are older say 50s-60s definitely when you are much older than that your bones will be much more brittle than someone who drank plenty of milk granted they will also have brittle bones but they have a better advantage. my mom who was kinda malnurished during her childhood is feeling the repercussions now. all and all it helps in the long run.

Milk most certainly NOT the biggest source of calcium, more foods have it than you realise, obviously.

Why coke? Why not Coffee? Seems weird to me, and I laughed at the whole 'makes you pee' bit. I wasn't aware that drinking a liquid caused that to happen

That part about the dopamine release being like heroin is misleading. Plenty of things make you release dopamine. Holding hands makes you release dopamine, so is holding hands like doing heroine?

Having an orgasm releases a lot of dopamine. It's called afterglow.

Thanks a lot OP, not only did this not work in discouraging me, it actually backfired, as I am now forced to go to the store and buy myself some coke since I am a thirsty ass ************ .

You're seriously trying to get us to fear dopamine? Do you even know what dopamine is? Do you know any good feeling you get ever? THAT'S DOPAMINE! Without dopamine, we'd all be unmotivated sacks of meat who just float from activity to activity without any sort of enjoyment to tell us to either keep going with an activity, or pick it up again in the future.

Trying to get us to fear dopamine is like trying to convince someone they should be afraid of AIR.
User avatar #27 to #18 - leglesslegolegolas (09/09/2013) [-]
The point of that part was to show the addicting properties of cola, however small they may be.
User avatar #49 to #27 - lolollo (09/09/2013) [-]
That's stupid as **** , though, because you get a release of dopamine from literally everything that gives you pleasure. You get it from everything as simple as completing a puzzle, or completing your homework to as complicated as finishing schoolor finding a job.

"It shows that coke is addictive!"

Then so is doing homework, and there's not an epidemic of THAT to be worried about......

If you describe any normal biological process in graphic detail, of course it's going to sound bad. All people are going to hear are big long words they don't understand and freak out because they fear the unknown. I'm sure a similarly complex process happens when you ate a salad.

Eating healthily and moderately is a good enough idea on its own that you don't need to use ******** fear tactics to sell it.

Diet Coke's artificial sweetener is a known carcinogen (causes cancer). So, all of the above plus the addition of cancer.

Sure, Coke may have these effects.. on someone that doesn't drink Coke on a weekly basis..

Instead of complaining at how bad Coke is for you, why don't you get off your high horse and start complaining about the actual energy drinks? Things like V, Mother, Red Bull, Lucozade, etc?

A can of that, 500ml, is worth roughly the same as a bottle of Coke, 600ml. The difference? The energy drink CAN kill you if you drink 2L or more in a single day. Coke won't kill you, unless you're stupid enough to scull 8L or more in a day.

Seriously guys.. Stop hating on the one drink I can afford that isn't pepsi.. >.>
