im a brony and a historical firearms collector, and I think that this is horrifying, you NEVER mess with a gun like that NO MATTER WHAT! they are extremely hard to find because most Kar 98 have had their stamps removed for political reasons, and having an original stock only increases the value, but by defacing the stock, you have not only destroyed the value but you have also destroyed a piece of history

I used to know a guy whose father was big on firearms, some modern some historical, and eventually he got into collecting them himself. He started with Vietnam War-era then moved down until he hit World War I, which he found incredibly rare; but I am not sure.
His favourite was a Soviet WW II rifle, I think it was the SVT-40, but I am not sure, and all of a sudden he decided to ruin everything he worked for by replacing the [I forget the material] stock with a ******* modern plastic one "for comfort."

I never respected him again

Wow now I get why some people shouldn't be allowed to own firearms, ******* ruined a nice piece of history.
