So I asked a girl out today with this little guy.
She said no.

But I'm trying not to let it bum me out.
To quote the Eleventh Doctor (and if you don't like Doctor who deal with it because it's a ******* good quote):
"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant."

It's an inspiring and uplifting thing that I agree with wholeheartedly, but I'm still pretty bummed out.
So this is also kind of a "Thanks for being funny, Funnyjunk".

I want to make something clear:
I don't blame her for this.
It's understandable she'd say no; I harbor no ill feelings, and she's a perfectly nice person.
She just didn't want to go out with me, and I respect that.

I just posted this because I posted that I was going to ask her out a few days ago and wanted to follow up on that, as well as I wanted to contribute somewhat to the community, even if it is only by posting about my failed social life.

Not necessarily. She's a nice person. She just doesn't take interest in me.

Good for you not blaming her, I hope you find someone to take to the dance! Best of luck.

Thanks mate.
Though I probably won't take anyone to the dance. Not because of any bitterness, simple because she was the only one I wanted to ask and I've liked her for months and don't want to take someone else as a 'rebound' date.

I don't think it could be considered a rebound if nothing actually happened.

Last year, this guy got out of class early and using letter magnets asked this girl he wanted to go to prom with him. He walked up to her after she was at her locker, and had a bouquet of roses. She said no and he said at least take the flowers being accepting of the situation and she said no, just leave. The look of pain in his eyes was staggering, and much like Ralph Wiggum you could see his heart break.

Well if I knew what gender you are, where you lived, where you went to school, or if I knew you, I'd consider it.
But thanks I'm flattered.

If you lived in Ontario and were female I'd go with you, if that's any consolation

forget her then she isn't worth your time. Find a girl that will give you the time of day or the relationship will be nothing more than slavery.
