But only in America.
Here in Germany college is free.
And you get a job afterwards.
We even have too few people.

i don't get why people go to college
its worthless this day in age, the last time i remember it being worth the money you spend on it was the early 90's

Probably because people with degrees get paid more on average over their lifetime, not necessarily at starting wage from just graduating, but years after that, they're far more likely to get better paid jobs.

They are also more likely to actually get jobs, post-grads have much higher percentages of getting a job after they leave and within the first few years than someone who goes into work instead of getting a degree.

Probably the main reasons.

you forgot about being black, native american, mexican, or just about any other "minority" but if i got a scholarship for being white, that would be racist...

I had ****** grades in high school and I'm on the way to becoming an engineer. I've seen people drop out of high school, get their GED and then go to college. You can't get into Harvard with ****** grades but community college is not tough to get in

And paying for college? Student loans are all you need, just don't get student loans if you're getting a degree that may or may not hold a job for you when you graduate.

Never got the good grades thing. I got into in alright college with just a 2.5 gpa and some decent sat scores. No language no activity's or sports or anything. Using the grant money I get, my college only cost me around 3000 a year out of my actual pocket.
