the problem is we cant let the world sort it self out be cause the last time the major powers decided to mind their own business most of Europe was conquered millions died in acts of genocide on top of that the ussr quickly accelerated to a super power resulting in a cold war that could have ended with the destruction of all mankind. so its best not to gamble on the thing and take action on containing and stopping countries and organisations behaving like Syria.

no but they probably would cause a lot of damage. the point is we cant ignore the world and hope things will magically work out because they almost never do.

There's value to both arguments, But I don't think that our responsibility on this one outweighs the diplomatic and life cost it will reap. On one hand, US can't and shouldn't fix everything. On the other hand, noone else is acting until they see it get to Best Korea levels of stupid.

USMC here, I'm with you. The US needs to bring our brothers and sisters home, it needs to rebuild OUR country which has apparently fallen out of the interest of our "Commander in chief". We need our veterans here at home to help rebuild this country with our discipline and our dedication.

Yea, lets just hope the good guys win out over the *********. I know you've seen em too. Maybe it'll all go ok and we'll end up with a repeat of the post WW2 gen in terms of not being **** people.

I'm pretty over it. If it makes you feel any better the UN says Obama doesn't have the power to call an air strike on Syria UNLESS we're attacked by them, or the UN approves it which they've said they wouldn't. It's an international problem, and it needs to be dealt with as such. I don't understand why he feels the need to put us all in war, when America doesn't want another war for no god damn reason.

Also most of our allies want nothing to do with this. And Syria has China, Russia, and other places backing them up.

Eh, war is good for the economy, but not decades and decades. And no, that's not justification, just an unfettered fact. It doesn't change the "wow, **** that" of this all.

I'm sorry but our economy sucks dick anyways, we're in debt and a war isn't going to fix that. It's just going to take our soldiers, our sisters, brothers, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. and throw them in a situation that doesn't need to happen. All because our president thinks he can do whatever he wants. We have two allies right now that would back us if we attack Syria. Australia and France. I don't think this is worth the risk. Honestly I don't want to have to live in fear that we're going to start a war and I might have to lose my boyfriend in something he doesn't need to fight in. Or my cousin, why do this at all. Yes Assad bombed his own people, and its awful that he did that. But the UN is investigating it and they will handle it as it needs to be handled. Bombing them is just going to piss them off and kill more people.

It's because they used chemical weapons, which is against the Geneva Convention, therefore by their own code the UN is obligated to do something. I don't agree with Obama acting all in charge, but the UN will need to have the final say.

The bad part is, Obama wont bomb the chemical weapon sites so where does that leave him to bomb? The innocent people. Yeah lets show them they can't kill their own people, but we can kill their people. That will show them. If we just give the UN time to handle it then the problem would be solved, its already in the works.

Obama isn't bombing anything. He doesn't decide where to bomb. He won't even get to call anything without congress, and if congress has half a brain collectively they'll leave it up to the UN.

Obama already said he doesn't care if we have allies in this if a war breaks out, I doubt he cares if congress gives the okay. It's not our job to act as the global police. That's why we have the UN.

Indeed, sorry it just bothers me to no end that this might really happen. And the fact that I'm pregnant and the father of my child (my bf) might have to go scares the **** out of me.
