Because RPG's are supposed to be realistic? I don't think magic and dragons are real either.

Of course they are, you just can't see them. Or touch them. Or interact with them in any way. But they're real.

I hate this - mainly because it just sucks all kinds of sense out of a gaming world you are meant to take serious.

Here, have a list of Fictional worlds with proper clothing for all genders:

Elder Scrolls (Female Plate Armor is the **** ).
Warhammer Fantasy/40000.
Fallout.
D&D Main (To some extend).

Anyone got more?

Mass Effect seems to do it right.

It's a shame so many MMO's tend to give females such skimpy gear. I like playing as a female character, but more often than not I sink a couple hundred hours to get to the max level and then feel upset because the endgame armor looks like a useless armor plated swimsuit (I want to actually LIKE looking at my character, not feel dirty knowing my high-level character looks like some sort of adventurer-prostitute. Not to mention it completely kills the immersion), It's also a reason I love Monster Hunter so much. Female armor definitely has feminine qualities to it, but you look like you'd actually survive a direct hit while wearing it compared to the **** they wear in WoW or Tera.

Kind of makes you wish they'd make a Warhammer 40k RPG. No one ever says sisters of battle are skimpily clothed. They always have at least two layers of clothing, one layer of armor and one layer of the blood of their enemies.

>RPG logic.
>Elder Scrolls is one of the only RPGs that follows the same armor across genders.
>Shows mod created by a user.
>"LOL RPG LOGIC TIS ISN'T FARE TO FEMEL CARACTURS."

I grow so tired of this comparison.

Good guy Dragon Age: Origins, not making female characters which aren't sluts look like sluts.
User avatar #16 - guywithafork (09/03/2013) [-]
Well, obviously it's the same stats.

Why would a sword have different stats if it's the same sword?

I've gotta ask, why do people point this out and complain?

I thought we, as Fjers, were into boobs? Or is this only an every other day thing?
User avatar #104 to #74 - thundagawd (09/04/2013) [-]
Everyone loves boobs, and for that reason developers try to incorporate that into games to get as much attention as possible (Bayonetta, God of War, Conan, TERA, etc. a lot of game adopt the whole "sex sells" mentality), but the problem is that in MMO's and RPG's in particular, immersion is much more important than in any other genre, and for that reason, the whole "metal bikinis" 90% of female armor sets have going tends to get annoying because it's hard to take anything seriously knowing your armor not only protects absolutely nothing, but that it would probably fall off if you just get hit once, whereas the male counterpart looks like an actual suit of armor (Borderlands 2 poked fun at this in the Dungeons & Dragons DLC). Not to mention it's pretty sexist too. I'm a dude, but it does get tiring how female characters are almost always portrayed as sluts in MMORPG's. It goes against all logic and it kills the immersion.
User avatar #69 - ButtonFly (09/04/2013) [-]
This is the exact reason why I primarily use male avatars.
The skimpy plated bikinis bother me 'cause I feel that would never actually protect anyone in battle and it's ludicrous.
I don't mind the armor, they're just not something I'd have my character wear personally. I generally like to cover my guy up.
