Silversmithing is a lot more difficult than saying sorry. To use this technique, one must believe that the piece that was broken is worth the time and energy put into fixing it rather than throwing it away.

Found this post now, the day after I find out my (now) ex gf cheated on me..

So I kinda want her back, because you don't just go from loving someone to having no feelings for them over the night.. But then agan I kinda feel it's not worth it, because reasons I'm not going to bother you with.. thus, I'm wery confused, and now I don't know what to do. How do you know if something's worth fixing man?

if she cheated on you, dont go back, she clearly didnt care about you at all, and youre better off now without her

well, get back with her, but this time just chain her to a wall in the basement so she can't cheat on you. don't forget to feed her!

nah, but seriously. it takes time, but you gotta get over her. if you get back with her, you're just opening the doors for it to happen again. instead of wasting your effort trying to get her back, use it to find a girl that won't cheat on you.

The first image is trying to imply, once you hurt someone or something, you can apologize, but they aren't the same as before you hurt them - you can shatter the plate, and put it back to pieces, but you can still see the cracks. The second image is implying that the above picture is utter ********, and you can hurt someone and apologize, and then strengthen the relationship by making the bond more beautiful - you can shatter the plate, then use gold to put it back together, leaving a pretty gold design, a design much more admirable than the original plat itself.

Do you understand now?
