The first image is trying to imply, once you hurt someone or something, you can apologize, but they aren't the same as before you hurt them - you can shatter the plate, and put it back to pieces, but you can still see the cracks. The second image is implying that the above picture is utter ******** , and you can hurt someone and apologize, and then strengthen the relationship by making the bond more beautiful - you can shatter the plate, then use gold to put it back together, leaving a pretty gold design, a design much more admirable than the original plat itself.
