For some reason I read it as "cat" at first and just got very confused about how a cat hydroplanes.

So what do you do if your car hydroplanes?

Let off the gas, so it goes back onto the road. hydroplaning is when your car rides above the water on the ground. Happens at about 35 miles an hour reg.

On my permit test there was a question that read, "You are approaching a puddle and you can't tell exactly how deep the puddle is. You should: " and one of the answers was "Call the police".

I have never lost control while hydro-planing. There was this onetime where my old truck hit a slick spot and I nearly spun out. Fishtailed all over teh place and went across two lanes before pulling it back into control and riding into a parking lot. But, for the most part, I've just cruised in a straight line.

I'm not bragging. I just find it odd.
