That last panel is so ridiculously true

I just started college a couple weeks ago with 500 in my checking and I've blown ~200 already on ridiculous stuff like ordering comics, kickstarters, those donation buttons on websites, music, gameboy repair parts, and food that costs extra than the standard meals.

I reallyyyy need to slow down and get an on campus job or I'm gonna be the stereotypical guy calling his mommy after a month of college asking for money.

I know that feel, man. I moved three hours away for college about a month ago. Came from a small little hick town, so I was so astounded by everything the city has to offer. Spent a **** ton of money eating awesome food and stuff my first few weeks, now I'm desperately waiting for my loan money to come in so I can afford to eat something other than ramen.

not sure if this would help anything, but here's my average monthly spending:

for 3 years now i've commuted back and forth from my family home to campus (i grew up in a college town.) i pay for gas and food, and other things here and there, and I average about $200 per month. I'm not sure how it all ads up, but its been a pretty constant number since the beginning.

If you have someone to ask for money, you'll do it sooner or later.
Dad used to show up, go through my tiny apartment, then buy me 200$ worth of groceries, once every few months.
And I'd still asking him to borrow money from time to time.
I've paid him back since, but being moneyless at college is pretty much way of life.

I find it really hard to spend money. I'm the type of person who if would still buy value food if I won the lottery.

No offence to you, but I ******* hate when people do that.

I'm in Uni at the moment, but I have a family that can't really afford to help me out.

In the UK we have student loans, and people always blow theirs and ask parents for help and I'm just there eating cheap food, not going out as much, and working alongside my degree just so I can get by.

I say I hate people like you, I think I mean I'm jealous...

I understand your hatred; I've realized my spending and haven't spent any more since I realized what I was doing. I also plan not to (unless absolutely necessary) until I can find an open position on campus, then do so conservatively.

I know exactly how you feel. I've been working 40 hrs a week and going to school full time. My dad passed away a few years back and my mom is as broke/more broke than I am, so she is always asking me for money. I wish I was lucky enough to have someone to lean on when finances start to get tough...

This movie is so great, I ******* loved it. It might not be my favourite, but it sure as hell is awesome. Best phrase in the movie: "STOP ******* WITH KOREAN JESUS, HE'S BUSY, WITH KOREAN ****!" My favourite movie is Jarhead. This movie is 21 Jump street

I am almost certain I am older then you.
And second don't tell me how to define being a grown up. I go to work, I pay my bills and I pay my taxes. I also buy myself candy whenever I want, read disney comic books, watch cartoons and one time I closed the study and filled it with balls making it into a ball pit.
I play video games and d&d, I spend hours every day dressed in a chainmail and arm plates practicing with a longsword. I make costumes for comic con and I mod my tech.
I am an adult. I'm just not going to conform to your or anyone's idea of being boring gray drone. That's not being an adult. thats being dead.
