You're an idiot. Launching cruise missles at someones country is an act of war. So once we've done that, Syria has every right to kill any U.S. Military personel any chance they get. You know, because we commited an act of war against them. I guess you're okay with risking U.S. Military lives around the globe on a ******* technicality. Go suck some more Obama dik.

How attacking another sovereign nation isn't war, I'll never understand.

Using the military to kill people is war.

Agreed. Isn't this pretty much the exact same thing that was done in Libya? Either way though I think blowing up **** on foreign countries should be stopped. Tomahawk missiles aren't cheap.

A strike is still an act of war. (If China led an airstrike against us, how do you think we'd respond?) And just because Clinton did it doesn't make it right. Clinton was wrong, too.

That makes it even worse. An act of war without a declaration (or self-defense) breaks every rule in the book.

This isn't civ5. Syria's government is surgically striking its citizens with chemical weapons. If out government sent weekly drones fueled with NBC weapons, and attacked civilians,!! I would be damned glad if China came in and bombed militant bases.!!

Slight problem with the Clinton comparison: Clinton DID put boots on the ground after the strikes. American troops were in that area for years after the initial strikes to take Milosevic out of power and stabilize the region.

I see your point. It'd be nice if the most we do is shoot missiles or use drones. Whatever will keep artillery out of the area. People want to bitch about strikes but almost no one here knows just how insane a single artillery barrage can be.

Sure it's a lot better than calling artillery over a whole damn village, the reason people bitch about it is because they know a lot of people in those countries consider that a very inhumane way of making war. American military has become so efficient in their methods and use such advanced weapons that it exceeds what is thought justifiable to do in wars/strikes in those countries. A lot of people who would otherwise be glad that 'murica came and got rid of their extremists instead see 'murica as their enemy because of how they make war. In 2007 roughly a hundred civilians were killed in Iraq every day by US forces, mostly because of how much airstrikes and attack helicopters that was used. It was a chaotic period, especially Baghdad, and the military didn't handle it very well and it led to a lot of criticism and outrage. Therefore there's a lot of extra worry about the negative effect of suddenly bombing people from thousands of ft in the air and then flying away, it creates a backlash. That backlash affects what the people in those countries think about the US, and that doesn't seem to have been truly recognised by the government or the military in the US - and not in many other countries either.

he also comments that solutions in syria are not just going to be militarily. Whether or not this is followed through will be seen. I think this is his last chance, if he ***** up now it's over
