Because it would be almost impossible to prove that it was the hamburger itself. Further more, cancer causing agents are in plastics and other things too, on their own in their current dose they wouldn't be harmful, yet excessive use could cause issues.

Essentially, nobody expects someone to only eat McDonalds, and if they do and die of cancer, it's hard to say whether the malnutrition aided that or not.

so then how can it be a "fact" if it cant be proven like that, it just bugs me how people put FACTS on something and then parade around these excessive accusations

Even if it did cause cancer, I'm sure a 8/10 of the people on this site would still eat there. Microwave popcorn causes cancer, as well... and I sure as hell ain't giving that up.

Almost all fast food contain cancer causing ingredients and you're exposed to them daily, its the extent that differs therefore its hard to say how harmful each individual ingredient is. Cancer can be created by alot of factors and even though you would eat at mcdonalds daily your body kills the cancer cells in most cases before they can devide.

Sunlight causes cancer
WE NEED TO BAN THE SUN

Seriously guys, almost EVERYTHING causes cancer, The average life expectancy is much higher than it used to be which is the reason that cancer is killing people today because people don't die at the age of 20 from Dysentery or staff infections.

alright, point taken, however cigarettes are age restricted and have multiple laws against their sale, not that that makes them any better.

It's not true, neither skittles nor jellybeans contain the food colorants cochineal and carmine. The McDonald's one is also false.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were all fake, but I only know of those two.

The McDonald's one is not even partly true. They haven't used pink slime since 2012, and there are no reliable sources claiming McDonald's only uses 15% Beef in their patties.

"pink slime" is something that doesnt exist and never has existed. the rumor started when a picture of a chamical truck was taken at a mcdonalds plant, that chemical truck did contain ammonia, but it was for the cooling systems used to freee the meat, ie. the same **** thats in your fridge's cooling system today.

I guess it was probably true when the content was originally made, my guess is that wtffunfact was made a while ago.

Anyway, I remember seeing that pink slime stuff on meat at the grocery store. I never knew what it was, I thought it was normal. Now that I realize what I was eating I'm pretty pissed.

I'm just saying, even though this isn't the point of your comment or the pic, that guy is filled with ****. Mechanically separated chicken is not put in the machine whole, it is just pieces of chicken that are usually harder to chew or process ground up. It is also safe for human consumption.
