Good joke, but it still really doesn't explain how there was only 1 customer that day.

It said "one sale". He had only one customer but several sales.

Doesn't matter if he wouldn't have had time for other customers, there still should have been more people entering the store if the usual was 20-30.

And who said it would've taken him the whole day to convince that guy and do the paper work?

There's a point where we need to stop and we've clearly passed it.

See, the whole day thing makes sense. After all, it fits with the facts. For one thing, it takes awhile to get all that done, regardless of whether you have to convince someone to do it or help them do it or just make the decision as to what you will buy. Further, he admitted he had to leave the store to sell multiple of the items. Now your stupid assumption that there was only one customer is much easier to work around. There are almost no facts supporting your assumption. He worked with one customer. But he was also away from the desk for much of the day. So any number of them could have come in and not talked to him about buying something. And if you only average 20-30 people in a day, in just about any store that isn't in the middle of no where (which an all in one store is not likely to be) then there has to be more people working. We have three gas stations in a town with a population of 1,000 people. Every one of them gets more customers in an hour than that.

It's okay. Your assumptions make a bit more sense than cinema's do.
