People are talking about it being okay or not to punch woman.

I say: Don't punch anyone at all.

No offense bro, I'm not trying to disrespect, but that attitude will get you seriously hurt, I don't look for fights or like them, but if someone hits me or has the notion to, I'm going to try my best to knock them the **** out.

You think that I live in a place where fighting happens. It doesn't.

Let me elaborate:

You use the argument that fighting might be unavoidable if I follow my ideal, and that sometimes hitting back sometimes is the way to solve a case of violence.

I then dismiss your argument as invalid, as I live in a place where people just doesn't fight, no even because they don't agree with you.

Therefor your argument is invalid when used against me - this is no failure on your part, however. There is no way you could have known that your argument wouldn't bite on me.

Did that help?

I don't care if my argument had no effect on you, but regardless, I'm not saying for you to be he-man, but if someone hits you and you don't respond, they are going to keep hitting you. You can get seriously hurt out there or worst if you aren't able to defend yourself, fights happen everywhere, like it or not.

Nah, generally it would be better just to run, or stop the situation from getting any worse.

No, I am a damn coward who is afraid of problems... But think about this for a sec:

If the coward runs and hides, he is made an example of cowardice.
If the bold stands up, he might make an example of bravery.
But who prevented violence? Who is actually the right example?

There is a distinct difference between avoiding violence and preventing it. Avoiding violence implies that you prevent it on one occasion. Preventing it means that you prevent it on every occasion.

Standing up to aggressors (never throw the first punch) prevents it. Running away avoids it.

Ex.; see World War II.

I go by the same policy, but I can't help to feel that some ************* need a punch in their face.

That's been my policy. Some guy popped out from behind a wall once in the locker room back in high school and punched me in the chest because of an accident. I just stood up, cracked a joke, and brushed past him. I got called to the office to sort out what happened later and he was crying like a bitch.
