Denmark (H.C. Andersen) also made The Little Mermaid, Den Standhaftige Tinsoldat (dunno what it's named in english), The Princess On The Pea and many others that are world known

I wouldn't call the original Little Mermaid a kids' story, same with Hunchback of Notre Dame

but it kinda was a kids' story. That was the great thing about HCA. He made stories that both children and adults could enjoy and understand in their own way

Yeah we do.
"Knecht Ruprecht" either gives the naughty children coal for christmas, punch them or take them away.

I'm Australian and I remember the muddle headed wombat. It was good and I kind assumed it was a common story, but Blinky Bill would be a lot more appropriate.

Nah, it was one of those huge ass novels that some poor parent has to read to their children. Or atleast I remember thinking it was huge, I was six at the time, so hard to say.

I'm German and I know Busytown. They're mainly books with large pictures of traffic scenes ( like where's Waldo) and a worm requests you to find certain vehicles. Pretty fun, though.

This was my first videogame. It came on 5 three and a half inch floppy disks. I still remember the songs.

"Building a new road, see all the people working there, building a new road, so cars and trucks can go somewhere!" Nostalgia.
