I thought AC was better by such an insane distance, mostly because the jump function in Dishonored was literally the ******* most retarded jump function in a game I have seen to date.

Seriously, double jump takes you the same distance, only double the height, why not even it out make moving around enviroments a choice not just blinking everywhere and having to wait for your bar to refill before you can get across that gap?

Didn't even bother finishing that piece of crap. There was some cool stuff, i'll give it that but for everything in it that I liked there was 2 things I disliked even more.

"why not even it out make moving around enviroments a choice not just blinking everywhere"

Exactly how far into the game did you get? Hell, some of the assassinations have literally dozens of different approaches, don't bash the game because you're too ******* dense/lazy to realize that Blinking everywhere isn't the only way to play the game.

Also, the "double jump" only let you travel twice as high because you were supposed to use it in conjunction with Blink since it has an otherwise very limited vertical range.

But it completely cancels out ALL the horizontal momentum you have, I didn't like the feel of having to trivially blink almost everywhere where a simple jump should be able to do the trick. Yeah blink is cool and all but sometimes you use it in places where you probably should just be able to jump between.

Dishonored has the best gameplay and storyline I have ever experienced. If you think you can easily blink from place to place, then do you really thing hudreads of approach ways are useless? I imagine you as annoying ******* who plays only games IGN says theyre good. Die, die you gaming industry cancer.
But srsly, learn to pick a good game

I play plenty of fantastic games, just because I happened to not like and finish a game that I personally thought to be terribad suddenly makes me cancer?

I thought Brutal Legend was fantastic, I loved Portal Mirrors Edge would have been fantastic if it was less Linear, Antichamber was one of the most *********** things I ever played.

Like I said dishonored had some ******* wicked cool **** in it, the actual combat was pretty cool if I could fight and parry without getting shot in the chest after about 30 seconds. But the fact that I only like a few gameplay styles from the variety it offers it didn't appreal to me very much, and I think that's where it lost me, it gave you loads of ways to do stuff but left a lot of mechanically clever stuff out. The double jump thing really did get to me, the storyline I didn't really enjoy too much because 1. I could never get into it because I didn't like the art style on the characters themselves or how they spoke and acted (With the exception of Corvo because come on, he's awesome)

I tried to get into it, I really did, but I could never play it for very long at a time because it just bored me to tears. At the same time I bought it I bought the Mass Effect Trilogy and Forza Horizon, and I enjoyed those games infinitely more than I probably ever will Dishonored.

PS, IGN says pretty much every AAA game is good and most ones that aren't as well. And there's plenty of games in those ranks that genuinely give the scores IGN give them.

I disagree with your opinion. While I was a strong Assassin's Creed advocate up until the third one, Dishonored was the better game gameplay wise simply because it actually makes you feel like an assassin. In AC, you walk around wearing a ******* Assassin's uniform, and in missions that require stealth, the game basically tells you where to go, what to do, and if you're spotted, it forces you to do it over again.

Meanwhile, Dishonored takes a page from both Hitman and Thief in that, while the game does focus on stealth, it doesn't hold your hand through the missions, and there are tons of ways to complete assassinations. Also, you if you get caught, it doesn't start you over, you just have to fight your way out of tough battles. Both games have their strengths and weakness, but Dishonored was clearly the better stealth game.

While the stealth mechanics were pretty spot-on I still couldn't forgive some of the movement options available, ducking and weaving under tables and through vents was cool and the likes I had problems with how it felt to kill someone, in other games it didn't really matter how much emphasis you had on killing someone but in DH like if you knocked someone out you'd slowly do it and the controller would vibrate etc and he'd struggle whereas if you killed someone there was no weight to it at all it just just an instant 0.5 second long jab to the heart. Mostly because I'd played a lot of FC3 beforehand and was expecting the same level of brutality you get from running someone through with a machete in that, if even it was a little binary.

I agree that there was little weight behind stabbing enemies in Dishonored, and normally that would be something I would bitch about as well. However, Dishonored gets around that by offering you the freedom to kill enemies in more ways than by just stabbing or shooting them. Additionally, the real satisfaction came from sneaking completely through a level not having to kill anyone other than the target. But if I wanted to kill someone, I could do it in really creative ways. I'll admit, I was put off by the movement at first too, but the problem here is that you didn't give the game the amount of time it deserved. I suggest you give it another try.

(As a side note, I don't entirely agree with matakeshi. The story in Dishonored is severely lacking)

I've tried it about 8 times.

Each of those times I've tried to enjoy it and I've inched forward each time, but I just can't into it. I mean climbing chains and **** was amazing. But my playstyle is generally 0 ***** given, and dishonored makes that a bit harder, especially on Hard which is what I started on.

well then try on medium or easy if its hard to get used to the mechanics. First 2 levels were hard for me (when I first time played it) but when I played 2nd and 3rd time I just fly through everything unspotted. The best part is you can play in 2 modes, low chaos and high chaos which leads to different endings. Its better to play on high chaos at first, then low. Also, all targets can be neutralized with non-lethal way, you just gotta search for it.

I think I see the issue now. I think you're casual gamer. There's nothing wrong with that, but if your play style is just running and gunning then a game with options isn't something for you, which makes it odd to hear that you immediately started it on hard.

How ******* dare you.

Just because my playstyle differs i'm suddenly casual? I'd love to see you reach inside the top 1000 on extreme trials or speed run Dark Souls inside 2 hours.

Just because I like fast paced hectic gameplay =/= casual.

And I always play games on hard that I've heard have no bonus modes because I assume there will be little to no reason to replay it after I finish and with Dishonored, and a bunch of other games I found this to be incredibly true.

I like Assassins Creed, but it doesn't even come close to Dishonored in terms of actually "assassinating". Dishonored actually feels like you're sneaking around and plotting the kill. Assassin's Creed has just become a hack and slash where you just fight endless guards until there's a cutscene where you assassinate someone. There's almost no stealth involved, let alone assassinating.
