Anxiety for me is where you feel like you're supposed to act or be a certain thing, but in your eyes you're failing to be that thing.

Anxiety is paranoia that you're not wanted or inferior. You feel awkward. Someone is near you in work and you feel obliged to talk but this just ensures you say nothing out of fear that it will sound forced.

To me anxiety feels like I am being controlled not to do something, like my brain takes too long to make up its mind about if I shouldn't or should, I feel dwarfed in large groups and tend to separate myself from the group vegas far as I can be and confine myself in total solitude.

I feel this way all the time. I have to know a person very well before I am able to talk to them with out thinking about it, especially if I am attracted to them or I feel like they are superior to me.

I myself have anxiety and it ******* sucks. When I was younger and didn't have treatment for it I couldn't even order my food at a restaurant I just froze up and my parents would have to order for me. I didn't get my license til I turned 18 due to stress of diving and it still stresses me out and whenever I'm put into a difficult, stressful situation I can't handle it and I break down. Just recently I was applying for community college and they where telling me about classes and all the stuff I need to do to get enrolled and I was so scared that when I went back to my car I just felt like crying. Anxiety is a terrible thing to have.

Yes. This person posted about their personal mental disability online without anyone asking, I feel if he wants to tell people about his life, others should be able to scrutinize it any way they feel.

same here bro
*hugs

Everybody says that I'm a smart guy and a possible genius, but here I am in my first day of college after leaving American Hydraulic for a brighter future, and I end up having to suppress a total nervous breakdown in the first class.

The work was easy, but it's been 3 years since I left highschool- and this place has no one that I know, I got lost easily, I didn't know what to expect; therefore I couldn't predict my environment. I feel very feeble and powerless in a place where I don't know how everything rolls or how the people think.
My mind was racing a million thoughts per minute, too damned shy to speak a word other than saying my name for attendance keeping, and my body still as a statue for the duration of 3 hours in class.

When i got home all i could do was sleep, and I got my homework done in about an hour after waking up. Not a pleasant experience...

I was looking at anxiety cures without drugs and i found this sort of program you buy and download and the introduction was hella long. Basically, it claimed that anxiety is from ancient civilizations where humans hunted and had to keep alert from other barbaric people. Since our lives are so peaceful and easy in a way, we have a problem with throwing away the anxiety that used to help us before. It's an interesting theory.
