Yeah it's my dream to be a Navy Seal...I leave for basic training next month for the Navy then after that it's Seal training, after that I'll be a Navy Seal. I'v wanted to be one since I was in middle school reading a book about Navy Seals and now soon my dream will be accomplished.

Thats no god damn soldier. Thats a Marine. Two eniterly different things. And yes, its a dream, which most people cannot accomplish.

You kidding me? My dream is to join the Navy and finish BUD/s, every physical sport/activity i've done since i was 14 is for training towards that dream, i did my research, now its training day in and day out, relentlessly while i still have time, the only thing i regret is not started training earlier so i'd have more time to get in peak physical shape for it, so yes, being a soldier is my dream and i want it more then anything in the world at the moment. and for the 6 more years of time till i join the navy, im going to work every single one of those years getting in the best possible fitness level i can, swimming, wrestling, the gym lifting weights, cardio, calisthenics everything i can think of, and then when the day comes ill be ready for it and try and achieve that dream.

-First day in the field-

Get shot.

Dream over. You got shot, your mommy will receive a flag and a letter saying dis ***** dead and the government will forget all about you.

Sucks being Uncle Sams bitch doesn't it?

Then i get shot doing the thing i loved and worked so hard for to acheive, i have no problem with dieing for my country and being remembered as a hero, if anything that's the way i actually want to go, beats dieing of old age in a bed and being forgotten years later, id rather be remembered as a warrior who went out fighting, just my thoughts though.

You wont be remember as a warrior though.
You'll be remember as Uncle Sam's Bitch.

For some people, wanting to server their country is a great dream. During WW2, every little boy's dream was to become a solider and fight the German/Japanese (Granted, Propaganda and social pressure was a huge part of this, but still).

That's why you fight for your country's ideals, and not for its' government.

During World War 2 some kids lied about their age.
Though they were 15, 16, and 17, since one would need to be 18 to legally join.

I'd like to know how no one ever questioned it. I'm sure you would have to have I.D to make sure you were a legal citizen and whatnot.
