I always hated it because I actually liked to check out books, and the books they did sell at the book fair was just little kid pop nonsense. confirmed for autist

Do elementary schools still hold these book fairs?

It was fun and all to go down there and there would be a competition to guess how many beans were in a jar and stuff and then you would win a free book from the fair if you won.

I never actually bought anything from there though. My mom worked with the school so she would come in and we would look at all the stuff I wanted and make a list, then a few weeks later we would go to the big scholastic warehouse that they would sell the same things since there was always excess of everything, and it would be over twice as cheap as they were at the school and I would come back with so many books and cool little things.

My mom worked there once. She chose a book for me, you might think I would hate it, but I Still love the series today.

I never bothered. They always charged like 3 times the price of a regular book store.
