went to canada to visit family this summer and they were only allowed 80gigs a month. they didn't tell me and i used 100gigs in my first 2 days. got overcharged $100 ($2 per gigabyte over initial allowance). once i was aware the next month felt like i was in a 3rd world country having to ration my internet use never going back again. here in america i pay $30 a month for truly unlimited internet use at 45Mbps down 4Mbps up.

When I was living in Ireland I lived in a village so the major internet providers didn't cover our area.. So we had to go with Three (normally a mobile phone company) and get a ****** modem that kept cutting out every few minutes and its cap was 25 gig a month for 20 euro or something like that..

it's reasonable because you can't get out thanks to the glorious sun, but for you in canada : just go out whenever your limit is reached.

I live in rural BC. I pay ~$80 a month for 20gb. I have 4-5mb/s down on speed test and about 200kb/s upload. I also have a MINIMUM of 600 ping, and an average of around 800ms. It's also $3.50 per extra gb used.

why must my internet suck so bad

Do you only pay for internet or do you have a phone/television bundle as well? I've been looking for a new ISP and was just wondering about your experience with Charter

i currently have a bundle( i used to only have them for internet but got tired of directTV). and i can only say good things about Charter. i am actually paying for a 30Mb/s connection but every time i speedtest it never goes under 45Mb/s . also connection is solid i never have to worry about throttling or slowdowns. and the modem is included (no rental fees). when i got the bundle they also threw in an extra free HD DVR just because i asked nicely. honestly never had service from anywhere that even got close to the Quality service i get from Charter

I ******* hate Australia, we have the caps as well and not only that we have the slowest internet in the world. ******* most of Africa probably has faster internet my god it's terrible. Another FANTASTIC thing going on here is the NBN (National Broadband Network) scheduled to have been finished in 2021, by that time the rest of the world would be faster than what that will provide, also with the NBN there is an election going on and the opposition wants to change the plan so that it finishes in 2019 and costs less but instead of 100mbps it will be 25mbps. Like what the **** is wrong with this country.

7Mb/s Is good here considering it is only ADSL and not ADSL 2+. One of my friends only gets 200kilobytes/second.

How do you use 100gb in two days? I can begin to understand if you were downloading movies en masse, and that's still a ******** of movies. In times when I'm doing nothing but sit at the computer and waste time for about 10 hours a day I still only get about 2 gb per week.

My friend and i went to dogsit for my aunt and we used up close to 400gb in two and half days. Where we live, the max download speed is 3Mbps or about 380KBps, and up there we were downloading at close to 2MBps. While still not a very high bandwidth it was much better then we were used too. We torrented a ******** of old tv shows, old games, and other media.
