That doesn't mean that 16 year olds have an 84% chance of having met their future spouse, it means that if you take all the people in the world who are 16 or older, then 84% of that group will have already met their future spouses. That includes people who are 20, 30, 40, 50, etc. If you take just the 16 year olds, it'll drop to 2% or some **** . ******* statistics, man.

the statistic is skewed because people married young back in the day. to get the results they'd have to survey married couples and ask when they first met, get an average age and so forth. so it's based off of older people and considering many of them lived in a time where the communities were smaller and you most likely had met your future spouse in school also like I said, back then people married younger than nowadays where most people wait till their 30-40 to settle down after they've gotten a career and whatnot.
