I will say in defenese of that car, its pretty reliable, easy to drive, can fit 6 people and Insurance can be pretty cheap. Plus the people that dirve are ususally the people that don't give a **** what there car looks like.

Idk, They can handle alot, especially the Ranger. I'm more of a Chevy, Dodge kinda guy, but the Ranger is better than the S10. But I've seen both do some crazy ****, considering their size, power, etc.

I do install hitches, and based on those, Dakotas are the better of the small trucks, since their hitches have a higher rating.

Avalanches and Escalades sit on the Suburban/Yukon XL frame, so they can handle way more than any S-10, Ranger, or Dakota.

I'm not much into trucks, myself. I did enjoy my previous and my current cars, though. Used to have a 98 Grand Prix, and now I have an 06 Monte Carlo. Same frame and almost the same engine. The engine on the Grand Prix ran beautifully, even with 180k on it, but the body and suspension were falling apart, and I didn't have the money to fix it.

The Grand Prix had a 3.8L V6, and the Monte Carlo has a 3.9L V6.

Redneck? Out in the country you see quite a few farmers with "raised" trucks because if there are bogs of any sort, it reduces the chance of flooding the engine, espeically since your lifestock doesn't give a **** how rainy it is, they have to taken care of.

I've seen countless trucks ruined simply because they hit a trench that was deeper than they thought and got the engine flooded. It is one of the reasons why one of my old Cherokees had a snorkle on it thanks to an area of our property that people around here call "the bottoms(below sea-level etc, always floods when more than 2 inches of rain thanks to tributaries that feed into the river being ******* everywhere.)

Granted, not everyone does it for this reason, but don't lump us in with people who just lift it because "it looks cool."
