salt is great for cleaning wounds, ever since i was a child ive never used anything on wounds but salt
make sure theres no children around, depending on how deep the cut is you might invent some new colorfull words

I actually look at them and pick the sugar. >_> Work in the kitchen long enough and it is easy to visually tell the difference between the two.
