Braces were far worse? What?

Braces don't even hurt when they put them on, it just hurts like a bitch afterwords whenever you want to eat something

Your teeth even slightly touching anything is painfull as hell the first week or so.

The first few times maybe

but after a year or two with them on, the pain usually goes away within a few days

To agree with the other comments, nothing about braces hurts AS it's being done really (except spacers if you need them before you get the braces on, fuck those things). Just about all of the pain involved comes after when you try to eat or move your mouth, especially with the first few tightenings. Takes a couple hours for any pain to really set in though, at the earliest.

Not so much when they're getting tightened, it feels unpleasant if anything

But for the next few days, you're teeth will scream in pain whenever you try to eat something even slightly solid

I'm not going to lie to you, having braces on is fucking dreadful

Aside from the pain you get for a few days after they tighten them, you're not supposed to eat a long list of different things or they could possibly damage your braces. Food gets caught in between your brackets really easily and it can be a bitch to get it out, plus did I mention how brushing gets harder?

Oh, but don't get me wrong. For me, it was worth the four years I had them on because now my teeth look damn fine instead of being the fucked up mess they used to be. The only real downside to braces were that I never smiled when I had them on, and now that I have them off I have absolutely no idea how to smile properly without looking like a crackhead.

Welp, that's all I can think of to say. Good luck

Lucky you, but it all depends on what exactly they're doing to your mouth

my teeth are too big for my mouth, they are off center, i have a tooth stuck under my gums that isnt coming in, one is sideways, my "canine" teeth overlap some of my front teeth, i have 60% overbite, and later im having four teeth removed to make room for the others.
