Little known fact about this song:

In Evanescence's early days, before having their first record deal, they thought it was really cool that their band was having a female singer and they thought of all of the possibilities. The record company saw this as a problem, because this was generally a new thing to the genre. They wanted to add a male singer to the band and Evanescence said "no." They waited it out for about a week until the record company finally gave in and called saying "Okay fine. You don't have to have a male singer in every song, but there has to be a male singer in one song and that song has to be the single." And they agreed on it, birthing Wake Me Up Inside.

Amy Lee, to this day, does not like the rapping part of the song at all because she feels it doesn't belong there.

A new thing to the genre? There have been female singers in pop bands for decades!!

Evanescence - Bring Me To Life (without Paul's voice) lyrics

Here you go, a version without Paul's rapping (removed very well, actually, the music never cuts off or anything) Go find a way to extract the audio if you want it.

I personally have no beef with the rapping, I wish a version existed where Amy sang/filled the missing vocals in.

Wake Me Up Inside is my favourite Evanescence song, because I think the rapping part is great.

New? But Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil performed and made music and found quite a bit of success years before Evanescence recorded Fallen.

It sounded plausible, so I checked the music video below, but it's not Mike Shinoda.

You seem to be a fan, so I'd like to know. What do you think about Chester Bennington being with Stone Temple Pilots?

******* .... hate it.... so god dammed much. Just no.... a thousand times no. I'm not a big Linkin Park fan but, the bigger issue is that the styles of music are very different.

Really? I actually love it. I think his voice goes extremely well with the music. But what don't you like about the new song?

I liked Linkin Park's Hybrid but only a few songs. I'm a huge STP fan. Plush, Vasoline, and Sex Type Thing are among some of my favorite songs. Chester's lyrics just don't match the sound they've been doing for so long. IMO Chester got a little too into the self-hate thing. Sorry if I rustled your jimmies with that

Oh, well for me it was the opposite. I was a huge LP fan, but when Minutes to Midnight came out, it was just really bad in my opinion. But after hearing Out of Time, I fell in love with Chester all over again, and now I can't wait for more, because it feels like he's going back in a way. And I agree, LP was always on the pessimistic side, even on their more optimistic songs the lyrics were depressing. And no, I'm not mad, I just don't know any other LP or STP fans so I haven't gotten any opinions of the people that would more likely listen and purchase their EP.

Wait... wat. It's funnyjunk so i wasn't expecting a respectable conversation haha. Yea... idk it's got the potential but, I'm really not sold by Out of Time

It's okay, I won't be shooting you down anytime soon. And yeah, who knows? I might completely change my mind about Chester being with STP after I listen to the EP.
