you know, while the idea is nice, if his concept for the power grid had gone through we'd either have to pay for power as a collective or switch to this system, because at the time electricity was so cheap that people could basically call it free. His system seemed nice, but now power costs so much more that trying to use alternating currents would mean that no one could afford it. Also, on a side note, it is the most inefficient system of transferring power imaginable, other than maybe clockwork gears.

troll or stupid?

do you realise that power isn't free, and someone would have to pay for it either way?

what i mean is, you said that, "now power costs so much more that trying to use Alternating currents would mean that no one could afford it." We do use AC power. If not stupid, what are you talking about? Defend yourself!

sorry, i meant direct current. i always mix the two up, my bad.

DC isn't his he actually fought a trade war to make AC dominating current. And we use DC too.
We use AC to transport energy and then DC to use it in most cases.

And again, it has nothing to do with this content. In this content its talked about Tesla's attempt (some say sucessful some say no) to generate electicity directly from earth's magnetic field, and then distribute it wirelessly for free.

well, wirelessly transmitting power would be highly inefficient no matter what.

But if you are generating it for basically nothing, in a renewable way that uses no fuel, and you don't have to build long expencive power lines so almost no maintainiance fees.
Country could build the infrastructure, then create a tiny electricity tax. say dollar a person 10 dollars a buisness. And there would be enough energy for everyone and everything.
Imagine what effects it would have on economy if transport, manufacture, living and agriculture energy costs go down to zero.

nonetheless, we have no evidence that his method worked, and he was rather insane in the later years.

I rescind my aforementioned accusation of stupid and the downthumb. Explanation makes sense in context. I dont know why i am talking in this manner.

no problem, it's always nice to know someone actually reads my comments
