1-5 is a few
5-10 is several
10-20 is a pack
20-50 is lots
50-100 is a throng

Several: I always thought of as more like 5-7, because it sounds like seven
A couple: Technically 2, but I use it like 2-5
A handful: the amount really depends on what you're talking about.

To answer poster "Thousands" would refer to multiple thousands. ex. 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, etc. Where as 1,500 would be considered more than a thousand or something along those lines.
